Instructions
  1. Step 1

The serpentine drive belt on all cars and trucks need replacement from time to time. It all depends on the mileage on the belt, brand of the belt, and if all the accessories are straight in alignment.

  2. Step 2

Just open the hood of your vehicle and visually inspect. You are looking for large cracks or missing chunks. Small cracks all around the belt are normal with wear and does not mean it needs to be replaced. Cracks that go more than halfway through the belt from the top to the underside require replacement.

  3. Step 3

Run your hand along the belt to feel for spots with small chunks missing. Feel the edges for uneven wear. A noise belt can be caused a worn belt, component not aligned properly, or fluids leaking onto it.
