How to Remove Gum From Your Carpet

Video Preview

Summary: Learn how to easily remove gum from your carpet, upholstery, clothing, or furniture using Dust-Off and a Credit Card. Have you ever had to remove old gum off of a car seat or carpet? I have and before I knew this technique I was using ice cubes. It took too long for the ice to freeze the aged gum and it was not a very efficient method either. I hope this article helps but be aware freezing stuff with Freon can be addictingly and fun, so be careful

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Holding the Dust-Off can upside down, spray the gum until entire infected area is frozen. This usually only takes a couple of seconds.

  2. Step 2

Take credit card and scrap away the gum. The frozen gum will be brittle and will easily come off.

  3. Step 3

If gum begins to thaw repeat step 1 and continue scraping until all of the gum is removed.

  4. Step 4

After gum is completely removed from carpet use a vacuum to suck up any remnants.
