Hi, my name is Lisa. I'm a Hairstylist in Wilmington, North Carolina and I'm going to show you how to do a 50's hairstyle. So our model has a little bit longer hair than most ladies in the 50's; cut their hair a little bit shorter; really layered and they would do a roller set; get their hair curled and then the hairstylist would come in and just tease it a whole lot and get it really big and you know, and they would just sort of comb it down. But in our case we're going to, we're going to use this natural sort of long curls. We're going to give it a little hide on top here to show the, the basic idea of the 50's which is just teasing and back combing. To back comb hair you take a, a teasing comb; it has little serrated edges in there and you just sort of start with a section and comb it backwards. Basically you want to create a little, a little nest that will get the hair up off the head, like so. In our case we're going to take a little, a little section here in the front and then you can sort of play with that to create your height and then spray it down real good. And that is a longer version of a 50's hairstyle.
