How to File State Taxes Online Free

"My name is Penny Tokash; I'm an Enrolled Agent. My company is Tax Facts Incorporated; it's in Jonesboro, Georgia. I'd like to talk to you today about filing your tax; your state tax online. There are companies that provide for filing federal taxes free of charge. Most of these companies you have to be low income; somewhere between twenty and thirty thousand an year and you can prepare and file your federal tax return online at no charge. Most of them however don't include the state tax in that. There are agreements with three or four companies that the different states have entered into; so you're going to need to go online to your state's Department of Revenue website and see which companies they've made agreements with in order to find out who you can file online with in order to not pay for your state return. That's become a problem. A lot of people are filing the federal and then not filing the state. So make sure that you find out how your state will allow you to file online for free."
