Hi, I'm Warren Cardinal, founder of Lucid Crew in Austin, Texas. I'm going to show you a quick and easy way to build a photo gallery website. For this demo we're going to start with WordPress. This is a default WordPress installation that I uploaded some dummy text to. WordPress is an open source software that you can install on any hosting account and you manage your website remotely through WordPress. Once WordPress is installed on your server, you can use it to create any kind of site that you like. There's a full explanation on how to download and install WordPress at lucidcrew.com/ehow. If we go into the WordPress Admin and we go to themes; I've installed a theme here called AutoFocus 1.0.1. This is a great theme for photographers; we're going to use this for our tutorial. So we're going to do activate; now it's our current theme. So if I switch over to the WordPress, I can see how it's going to see how it's going to look but I don't have any images in this post since it wasn't set up, like that. So we're going to go back to post and we're going to make this post be post with photographs. So I'm in editing a post; what I'm going to do, add an image. I just picked a random image from my computer that I'm uploading here. So once the image is uploaded, I can do save changes; save my post; enters the image how it looks on this page; if I go into the post and see my full image. Let's do a couple more. Great thing about this theme is that it's a, puts the images in a nice grid format automatically. It'll make your homepage look really nice with the newest photos that you've uploaded to the side. So if i refresh here, now I can see my second one. So you can kind of see how that it's building this, sort of interesting grid format of the photos. If I couple this with some other plug ins maybe for a star rating of a photographs or I add some tags, you can see how you can create a really nice photo gallery website. So now we have the third photo. And you roll over it, it shows that quick intro of what the photo is; when you click on it, it shows the full photo; really nice description formatting, links to other photos, post a comment; really nice instant photo gallery website.
