Hi! My name is D.C. Knight, general manager and pro shop operator of Cardinal Lanes Beach Bowl. We're here today to talk about the importance of getting your own ball drilled. It's important to get your own ball drilled so that it's custom fitted to your hand. So as not to tear your hand up with blisters or calluses. You go to your local pro shop, buy the ball. The pro shop operator will measure your hand to make sure it's got a good custom fit. Once he has your hand measured, he'll do what's called mapping out the bowling ball which is putting lines on the bowling ball so you can put the line, the holes in the correct place. The ball will be mapped out, he'll lock the bowling ball in place and drill your bowling ball. Most pro shop operators will do your fingers first and the thumb last to ensure a good custom fit. That's the importance of drilling your own bowling ball.
