Hi my name is D.C. Knight, general manager and pro shop operator of Cardinal Lanes North, we are here to talk to you today about how to throw a smooth bowling ball. Throwing a smooth bowling ball is important. Not only does it help your game by giving the ball more time to roll, but it also protects the bowling center and bowling lanes. Sometimes your hands will get stuck or you release the ball out over the foul line, and that is what is called lofting. Lofting sometimes damages the lanes, damages your bowling ball so what you want to do is throw a smooth bowling ball. The way to do that is to get a good knee bend at the foul line, and lay the ball down just over the foul line. Again that gives the ball more time to react, protects the lanes, and helps you increase your score. So in summary you want to throw a smooth bowling ball to benefit your game, protect the bowling center, and increase the roll of the ball. Again you do that by getting a good deep knee bend at the foul line, and releasing your ball just over the foul line, and laying it down on the lane. And that is how you throw a smooth bowling ball.
