Hi, my name is Tanya Batts. I'm a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. Want to talk to you today about how to prevent leg cramps. Well, the first thing you really need to do is warm up before doing any type of exercise and I'll be honest the number one reason people get leg cramps are their dehydrated. You absolutely have to drink plenty of water. If you really just constantly getting those cramps you might not be getting enough calcium, potassium and magnesium. So, you want to make sure you're drinking the milk, green vegetables with magnesium, banana for potassium but I'm just going to show you some simple stretches to really prevent those leg cramps. I'm going to start with a calve stretch because that's where a lot of people get that cramp and the go down in the middle of the field. All we're going to do, I'm going to push the heel away. So, you want a long chest kind of lending forward. I'm just pushing the heel. You can feel free to kind of use a wall as well and really pushing against the wall. Even bend the knee a little bit kind of gets down on that little Achilles heel fantastic. Stay where you are just shift back forward fold over that leg in front of you with a long spine. That's hand's strength unbelievable and do the same thing on the other side. Another great thigh stretch simple just hold on to a wall. grab your foot. Pull the heel to the butt. That is stretching the thigh fantastic. Feels good too. Another one inner thigh such a great, great stretch. People kind of forget about the inner thigh. Want to come down elbows on the inner thigh. You just kind of pushing both knees back. That is really stretching the inner thigh pretty fantastic good stretches. So, those are just a few ways you can prevent getting leg cramps. Warm it up drinking plenty of water. That's all you got to do.
