"Hi I'm Mark the Shark with marktheshark.com. On this clip I'm going to show you how to set up a fishing rod. This is your normal spinning rod as you can see. There's a reel seat right here that goes right into the rod, one, two, make sure that you get the reel seat right in there, all the way up in there okay. This tightens the reel on to the rod make sure you are nice and tight over here. If it's loose it's going to wobble around and the reel is probably going to come off the rod when you get a big fish on, okay. Now this is secure to the rod and you want to make sure you have got your line. You want to go underneath the bail, under the bail like this, loosen the drag a little bit, okay, put the rod in the rod holder and you get the end of your line and go through all your guides, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, okay, come on down here, loosen the drag a little more if you have to, okay, tighten the drag a little bit. Now if you want to use a little jig, get everything ready, tie a nice little overhand knot on it, okay. I like to use this kind of knot. It's pretty secure to the lure. They don't come off normally, two, three, come through here, go through there, okay. I'm going to bite it, you want to get it a little wet there so a little friction, come tight, really tight on it, right there. Make sure she's not going to unravel on you. Get a pair of pliers and we'll cut the tag end off right there. That's ready to go and this is your normal everyday fishing rod. It's ready to go. You're completely set up, ready to go for action. Make sure the reel is on there secure, feel it, nice and tight. Everything looks good. You're ready to rock and roll. I'm Mark the Shark. Thank you for watching."
