Hi this is Milawna, and we are at Tap Tap in South Beach Miami showing you how to make mojitos. In this clip I am going to show you how to make a lime mojito. What is a mojito? Well a mojito is a traditional Cuban drink that was drank at gatherings on the sugar plantations that were made by the plantation workers. Here at Tap Tap we are famous for making Haitian mojitos. But today I am going to show you a traditional lime mojito. The ingredients include simple syrup, soda water, lime, rum, and mint. I am going to start with a ounce and a half of rum. Here we use Barbancourt, which is Haitian rum. You can use any rum that you like. I am going to muddle the mint, fresh mint with raw sugar. It is very important to crush the stems, because the essence of the mint is in the stem. So I am going to crush those really good, and I am going to grind up the leaves to get some good color in our drink. After I am done I am going to add fresh slices of lime, and I am going to muddle them with the mint. I am going to add lime juice, give it a really good mix, and add it to my rum. I am going to garnish it with fresh sugar cane, fresh mint, a lime slice, and here is a lime mojito. Let's give it a taste see what it is like. This is a traditional Cuban mojito, it is the best. Thank you, this is Milawna showing how to make a lime mojito. Thank you, and enjoy.
