Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we're going to talk about how to grow seedlings under artificial light indoors. Now any plant can grow indoors if it can grow outside it can grow indoors as long as it has moisture, enough light and heat. Any type of light will work. This light just here in the kitchen seems to work really well and any plant I put in this area just thrives so when you're starting seedlings you can do it year round. It doesn't matter indoors because it's always warm indoors and you always want to start with more seeds than you expect to grow so just by putting a few seeds into a pot, kind of sprinkling them around, mixing them around make sure they are about one or two inches deep and then when you water it you want to make sure that you don't use too much pressure so just barely use a misting pressure or right there so that it's not too much pressure so that the dirt and the seeds don't just come right out and you want to let it rinse out real well. Now you want to sit your seedlings on a plate or a tray and you want it to be wet but never sitting in water and again by putting some gravel on a tray as well you can keep more moisture underneath and still keep the pot dry enough but it's really easy to grow seedlings indoors as long as you have some artificial light. It doesn't have to be really expensive halogen. You can have a fluorescent light in your kitchen and everything will grow well there as well.
