Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment I am going to talk about how to grow a green lawn. Now everybody's goal is to have a beautiful lush green lawn year round and it's quite a challenge no matter where you live. If you live in a warm climate it dies in the heat of the Summer or in the Winter and if you live in a colder climate everything turns to moss in the Wintertime but the keys I have found to keeping a nice green garden is reseed, reseed and reseed. You want to make sure every Spring and every Fall you add more grass seed to your lawn and it will fill in. It will push out all of the weeds and if you have an area that doesn't look good whether it is in the Spring or the Fall is the best time to reseed. So in the heat of the Summer when your lawn starts to die by just putting a little bit of compost or potting soil down in the worst areas and adding some grass seed, you'll have a nice lush green lawn. Now outside of that you have got to make sure you have enough sun. You're never going to have a really good lawn in a shady shady spot and you need to water especially I have found in my shady area I have to water a lot in the heat of the Summer because rain does not get, when it does rain the water does not go under the trees. So it's a combination of water and sunlight and lots of grass seed and you can have a lush green lawn without any chemicals.
