Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment I want to talk about how to get rid of weeds naturally. Now if you have a nice flower garden or you have a nice lawn and it, all of a sudden you look at it, there's weeds everywhere. And you don't want to use chemicals, but there's a few tricks that you can use. Now first of all, as I have found in the Spring or in the Fall, it's a lot easier as you're trimming back all your plants. Just to put a little layer of compost or potting soil on top of everything. And then what happens is, a lot of the weeds will die down and you'll have a nice bed without even having to deal with the weeds. But really, the only way to get rid of weeds is by using your hands. And so, you've got to pull all of them out one by one, that's really the only natural way to get rid of weeds. Now if it's an area that's only weeds and you have no flowers, you can put newspaper down, you can put material down, grass clippings down. A lot of times the weeds will die down and you can put, raise beds on top, that works really well too. And a lot of tricks too, what I find is for your lawn, if you've got weeds on your lawn, use boiling water. Just put boiling water on the areas where there's lots of weeds, put some compost or potting soil down and more grass seed, every Spring and every Fall. Go through your whole area, boil those plants, boil all the weeds, put some dirt down and some new seed, and you'll find it'll come up real well. Now my theory too, is if you've got somewhere, so many weeds that you're just giving up. Then you can always in the Fall, pull up all the foliage, get another layer of soil and you'll find that all the plants will come back the year. The best way to get rid of weeds naturally, is to pull them one by one. And outside of that, if you've got a lawn full of weeds, put some grass seed down every Spring and every Fall. And the grass seed will push out the weeds. All the fertilizer in the world or the Broad-leaf killer won't help in the end. By putting grass seed down or putting plants and just packing it with plants, you won't have any weeds.
