Hi, this is Andrea Franklin, and I'm an in-line skating instructor here in Miami, Florida. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to do what we call a spin stop on Rollerblades. Actually, we call them in-line skates because Rollerblade is a brand of skate. So, to do a spin stop on Rollerblades first, I'll demonstrate it and then I'll teach you how to do it. This is a spin stop, so here's what you're going to do. First of all, you're going to place all your weight on your left leg. You're going to lift the heel of your right foot and spin it around so that it's rolling backward. So once again, place all of your weight on your left foot. Lift the heel of your right foot. Spin your upper body around, rotate the upper body, and you'll notice you're on the inside edges of your skates. Now, what I don't want you to do is put a lot of weight on this leg because if you do that what's going to happen is you're going to do this. So, your weight is going to be on pretty much just the toe wheel of your right foot. So, let's try that one more time. Put your weight on your left leg. Rotate your upper body around, spin around, and you have a spin stop. One more time. Now also, you can do that either way so if I want to do it to the left I'll place my weight on my right leg and I'll spin around to the right. Either way, it's a great way for you to stop.
