"Hi! This is Susan from Treat Nail Lounge in Santa Barbara, California. Today we're going to talk about how to grow long, healthy nails. First, you want to file the nail straight across. Don't touch the sides, it does weaken the nail. You want round off your edges, the corners. You don't want to use your fingertips to do a lot of household chores as I can. Use a tool if a tool is around, anything. A nail clip, you know, a butter knife, anytime that you want to open a soda can, just think when you go to use the tips of your nails that your nails will break. Also, too, if you're going to garden, wear your gloves. Doing dishes, wear your gloves also because the warm water does weaken the nails. What we're going to do now is we're going to apply a nail strengthener and this is if you really don't like one polished, a lot of people don't. But at least use a nail strengthener. It's extremely good. Nail strengthener, I use it on my nails once a day since I'm in so much water and doing what I do here. Each day like I say probably for about a week you can apply a fresh coat and then usually after about a week you can take it off. Do a simple manicure and then start all over again. So just this few easy steps would want to help your nails stay nice and strong and healthy."
