How to Make a Gift Bag in 5 Minutes

Things You'll Need:
Box - you decide the size
Wrapping paper - enough to wrap the box
Scissors
Glue stick
Hole punch
Ribbon or fabric cord - two 7 inch pieces
Lightweight cardboard

Get a box that is the size of the bag that you want to make. Cut enough wrapping paper to wrap the box. Wrap the box using a glue stick. Leave one end open. Cut a piece of wrapping paper slightly smaller than the bottom of the box. Glue it to the bottom on the outside. Be careful not to glue the paper to the box! Gently crease all the edges of the paper, sides and bottom. Remove box from paper.

Fold the top of the bag 1/2 inch down into the bag. Make the fold crisp. Then crease the sides and bottom of the bag by following the gentle creases that you made earlier.

With your hole punch, make 2 holes on each side of the bag. You can measure or 'eyeball' it. Take one piece of ribbon or fabric rope, tie a knot on one end. Take the flat end and put it in one hole then out the other hole. Tie a knot on the flat end. Repeat with the other piece of rope on the other side of the bag. Cut a piece of lightweight cardboard slightly smaller than the bottom of the box and insert it into the bag.

You can add embellishments with a glue gun after the bag is finished.
Rubber stamping should be done before wrapping the box.
Be careful not to glue the paper to the box.
