"To play E augmented in first inversion across the bottom five strings, place your pinky on the fourth fret of the bottom string, your ring finger on the third fret of the fifth string, your middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string and then with your forefinger bar the second and third strings at the first fret. Your chord should sound something like this."
