"To play a D7 in second inversion in the first position of the guitar neck: play the fifth and fourth strings open. Place your middle finger on the second fret of the third string, your forefinger on the first fret of the second string, and your ring finger on the second fret of the top string. Then play the top five strings and your chord should sound like this."
