Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide the width you would like the finished bow to be. We're going to make a 4" bow for this article. Make a 4" loop with the end of the ribbon. Holding the loop in the middle, roll the ribbon onto itself so that you are adding a loop at a time to each side. Each side of the ribbon should have five loops (about 2" on each side of the middle).

  2. Step 2
    Bow Before Being 'Puffed Out'
    Bow Before Being 'Puffed Out'

Fold the two loops together and at the fold, cut a triangle shaped edge off of each side, so that you are left with about 1/4" folded ribbon in the center. (Don't cut Through The Fold!!!) Still holding onto this fold, take the extra 12" ribbon and tie it around the middle of the bow (see picture).

  3. Step 3

Now you're ready to 'puff out the bow'! Gently pull each of the five loops out from each side (so you're doing this 10 times) - pull the first loop out and twist it one way, then pull the second loop out and twist it the other way. This is repeated until all 10 layers have been pulled out. Shape the loops to your satisfaction, and then tie or tape the bow to your package!
