Step 1
Identify the material the sticker is made of. In this case, ours' was metal. If the sticker is vinyl, you probably won't have to proceed past Step 2.

Step 2
Use a hair blow dryer (a stronger heat source, like a heat gun, or propane can burn the finish) Heat evenly over the entire surface, passing the ends by about an inch with each pass.

Step 3
If you have good fingernails, you can start to pry the emblem at one of the corners. When it starts to release, slide the plastic card under the edge and work back and forth, as in the video.

Step 4
Take your time and work the emblem free from the adhesive. A residue will probably be left on the finish. Use a solvent that is recommended for use with bumper stickers, and apply liberally, and in a direction that drips won't damage other surfaces.

Step 5
After the last of the adhesive is removed, wash the surface with soap and water to neutralize and remove any remaining solvent.
