"Hi this is Sandy Poltarack and I'm here on behalf of gladesguitars.com. Hi, today we're going to be doing open B tuning and I'm using this beautiful Blanchard guitar that we have here at the store. Open B tuning is a little complicated because you have to go way down. Remember that the normal tuning is E, A, D, G, B, and E so this E has to go way down to a B and I'm going to use this tuner to help me find that pitch and I'm playing the second string because that's a B also and I am using that as a guide to help me find it. Right there it is, pretty good and the next is to take the A way down to F sharp. I went past it. I have got to come back. That's pretty good. Next is to take this D way down again to B so now we have B, F sharp and we're moving towards the next B and I can use the lower sounding string again as a guide but I'm also going to rely on the tuner. This is one of those neat Intel tuners that just attaches to your guitar, you don't have to plug it in. It picks up the vibrations. O'kay the next is to take the G way down to an E, let's see, there it is, let's see. You can really feel the vibrations. The B is going to go way down to G sharp, let's see and the last is the highest sounding E is going to go way down to C sharp. So here's B, here's C sharp and I need some fine tuning and with any of these lower tunings you are going to need to have some heavier gauged strings on there and that's it, that's open B tuning. Thank you. This is Sandy Poltarack."
