"Hi, this is Sandy Poltarack and I'm here on behalf of gladesguitars.com. Hi, we're here today to help you learn about G tuning, open G tuning. Remember again, that the guitar normally in standard tuning is E, A, D, G, B and E. Those are the names of the open strings and I am going to use this tuner here to help me find the first pitch for open G tuning, which is actually going to take this low E string down to D. And I'm actually using the fourth string as a guide to match pitches. And that's the D. The next string which was an A needs to now go down to G. Now I can do it a couple of different ways. I can play at the fifth fret, I can play right there on the fifth fret and give me the note that I need to tune to. This is the G. The A is moving down to G. And again I'm checking with the tuner to make sure that it's accurate. There it is. The next, stays where it is, o.k. The D stays where it is, the G stays where it is, you can hear it. And the, I'm sorry the second string stays where it is, it's the high E that has to go down a whole step to D again. And that's the beauty of open G tuning. Again this is D, G, B, G, B and D. That's open G tuning. Thanks a lot, this has been Sandy Poltarack. See you next next time."
