"For my jig fishing, and Carolina rigs I am going to a really heavy fluorocarbon. Now this is a twenty pound test fluorocarbon. So on a Carolina rig what you will want is a really heavy ming line on your reel. This is twenty pound fluorocarbon, Sugoi fluorocarbon. We put our weight on, you want to put a bead on there that helps protect the knot on your swivel from the weight coming down, and banging against it all the time free floating. You want a really nice barrel swivel on there to help with line twist, because your bait is going to be out there just swimming around, and doing it's own thing. And then on your leader you will want about a three foot leader. I generally try and do about half the line weight of what my main line is. So we are using a twenty pound main line, and then we go to a ten or a twelve pound leader. And then your bait will go onto the hook, and then it is just out there kind of free floating, and doing whatever it needs to do to attract the fish. So for Carolina rigs, heavy jigs, heavy cover use a heavier line. Go with fluorocarbon you will get a lot more bites, and then if you are fishing in a lot of brush, and staying water then use the braid."
