"Hi, this is Brian Fonda with FloridaAdultSoftball.com. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to tape up a grip on a baseball bat. I've already started a little bit, as you see, I've got a little bit of the tape around the knob of the bat. For me, this is my personal preference where it's a little bit thicker on the knob, it allows for a better grip for my lower half of my hand. What you want to do, wrap it as tight as you can. If you see any type of a wrinkle, you've got to take it off and straighten it back out. What I'm going to do is called a diamond grip, where what it ends up being when you finish out, it comes up with a diamond pattern, where you have diamond, diamond, diamond in between the tape pattern. Now, this takes a little -- generally, it doesn't take too long, about, I don't know, maybe five or ten minutes depending on what type of a design you do. There's different types of designs, there's a diamond, there's a straight angle. Now, that I've gotten your tape grip on the bat, let's work on the stance a little bit. What I like to do, come out, feet separated, no open or closed angle, no open nor closed, at a straight angle, parallel to your shoulders, shoulder-width apart. This allows me to do, keep a good balance, good balance, so when your pitcher comes and you can see that pitch coming in and you can stay balanced, it allows you to drive a ball as much as possible. Another thing you want to work on is the stride of your front foot when the pitch is coming in. A lot of people, what they like to do, they like to come in with a high stride and then land. That can work for some people, but it doesn't -- it's not always perfect. What I try to do is I like to keep my foot low to the ground as a simple step, simple step, just like this, that way when the pitch comes in, I make my swing and connect on the pitch. This has been Brian Fonda and thank you for watching."
