"Hi this is Brian Fonda with floridaadultsoftball.com. In this clip I'm going to show you how to break in a soft ball glove. Now the important part of a softball glove is how to form it and how to break it in. To do that usually you just want to be able to pad it in a couple of times, make sure that you get all the forming you need. A lot of the times, people like to break out the web, curve it a little bit, opens up for the pocket, allows the ball for a little bit easier to go in with it stays secure in the pocket. Now the other way that other people do it, they tend to go on the outside and they curve it in so that it comes out in more of a round formation so again it ends up having a pocket, more secure for the ball. Another way to break in a glove is to start playing catch. Playing catch allows for the glove to start getting used to the ball that you're going to be using. Baseball players, softball players do the same thing. They use the same ball that they always want to use, and that's how they do it. Keep throwing and just work it in, to a point where you feel comfortable with how you're forming it and how it's breaking in. Another way to break in your glove is to use the proper oil, with an oil spray to help form it in. Use this spray, what you do is just basically you spray all over the glove and you place it in the oven. Place it in the oven about two hundred and fifty degrees for about ten minutes, not too much, enough for it to soften with the ball in the glove. It allows for the glove to form over the ball and allows for it to help secure the pocket. Personally, I don't believe in this. What I do is I like to go with just natural, just playing catch and working with it on my own. My personal belief is that when you use a spray it tends to soften out the leather a little bit and allows for the pocket to be a little bit weaker and when you're going to catch it on the palm. This has been Brian Fonda, thank you for watching."
