"Hi I'm Bob Waers, and we are here at You Health Center in Orlando, Florida this afternoon, and we are going to be looking at some of the tai chi ball exercises. One of the great benefits of the tai chi ball exercise is it reinforces principle. One of the principles is breath. So as I pull the tai chi ball into me I am inhaling. As I reach out I exhale, and we keep this circle going through many cycles of breathing, and feeling the counter balance of the ball. You set up a wave in the spine, which breaks as the ball reaches outward. From the ground up through the spine, and wave out through the arms, and the ball. You reverse that and you inhale in, exhale out, inhale in, and exhale out. There is an energy chi that flows through your body, and between the hands it will jump through space, but it will also flow through the wood, because it is a natural subject. So you want to have a sense that there is something going on through the arms, and into the ball completing the structure of your circle. Your frame is controlled by the weight of the ball. It pulls you forward into the front part of the feet, and then sinks into the heels. As in flat plate exercises the ball can be used thusly to set up resistance in the movements. Stretching the tendons, opening the meridians, switch hands, and maybe do it in reverse. These are but a few of the tai chi ball exercise of which there are many. And it always establishes the correct relationship of the hands. The tai chi ball, thank you."
