"The question is, how to prevent motion sickness in dogs? Motion sickness is actually quite common, especially in puppies. It's common like it is in humans and so these dogs, of course, get nauseous, they can vomit, they can get very anxious in vehicles and during motion and so it can be quite troublesome especially if you are moving or going on a trip with your pet. The first thing to do is talk to your veterinary clinic. There are some medications that can be given that could prevent that, but you need to know your animal's weight and the correct dose and correct medication for that pet. So, there are some good preventatives out there. Now, other things would be desensitization and that is, you know, the more a puppy especially is introduced to a car and that is placed in a car, drive her on the block and get out, that sort of thing. Generally, motion sickness gets better if they go on a long trip all at once, that's not good for them so if you just go slow, your short little trips here and there. Frequently, a lot of puppies are going to get used to that motion and that will prevent motion sickness totally."
