"Hello, my name is Nene Ortega. I'm a dance instructor at the Goddess Store in Hollywood, Florida. In this clip we're going to talk about how to do the salsa dance. Nowadays that we have Latin America and we have people who immigrated to New York; we have two different styles. Today we're going to talk the salsa in one. Meaning that we're going to start in the first beat of the rhythm. Okay. So it's going to be one, two, three, pause; five, six, seven, pause. Meaning I have eight counts; I'm going to dance only six counts. Again; one, two, three, pause four; five, six, seven, pause eight. So I'm going to do it a little bit faster. Okay, you want to do it with me? Be ready. I'm going to change on this; I'm going to start with my left going forward because it's going to be the leader's part. Okay. So it's going to be left, right, together and pause and then going back with the right; right, left, together, pause. So it's one, two, three, pause four; five, six, seven. Okay. So that will be the leader's part. And from the follower, I'm going to mirror my partner. So my footwork for the follower is going to be like this; back and together; front and together. It's two together; okay. So right foot goes back; back; left stays in place and I change and I'm going forward; left forward, right in place and coming back. Okay. So it's going to be one, two, three; five, six, seven; a-one, two, three; a-five, six, seven; a-one, two, three; a five, six, seven. So this is the basic salsa step in one. Let's do that again, okay. I'm going to start with the left. I'm going to be the leader's part. Okay, starting with the left is; left, back, right; left, back, right and one, two, three; five, six, seven. One, two, three; five, six, seven. For you, salsa basic steps, Nene Ortega in Hollywood, Florida."
