"The next sequence or session has to do with the up card is turned and the question is what do we do in subsequent rounds of bidding. There is only one possible subsequent round of bidding in the event that the card is turned down. Okay, let's look at a typical hand. This person, or south using direction, is the dealer and west here sees a spade he can't order them because he doesn't have anything, he's got the left but a predominantly red hand, he's got the second ranking trump, I mean, I'm sorry he's got the master trump and he's got no support for him so that would not be a good call with just one trump. Now if he had two trump, maybe, because he's got a void and he could perhaps supply an extra trick. He, on the other hand, likes the idea of spades because he has three trump. So he's going to go ahead and order that queen of spades into this hand, okay, but let us suppose for the sake of argument he didn't have that, because I want to show you what happens when there's a second round in the auction, okay, so we're going to change that. Now just for the sake of discussion because I know what he would have done, we're looking primarily at second round of auction. Passing a spade, passing a spade, that's a tough borderline call, but I certainly wouldn't order it, passing a spade, again it's a borderline hand, you might want to order, you might not, but are you really hoping that your partner is going to produce something and it turns out it's a disaster, but I think that's a pretty shaky call, aggressive players maybe. Pass and of course he turns it down."
