Step 1
Before you attempt to do a wallspin, try it out at a gymnasium. Most gymnasiums offer an "open gym" class, where you may do what you like. You can become proficient in a controlled environment, then gradually take it to the streets.
-
Step 2
Choose a wall, a wall the has traction, no obstacles above to snag your feet or head, and has a flat, open space before it, with at least 10 feet of running distance to said wall.
-
Step 3
Take aim, plan your plant, and back up about 10 feet to run up. Make sure to measure your stride, so that you don't studder-step up to the wall. Angle your path to the wall as well, so that you are at 45 degrees. Running straight at it will result in agony.
-
Step 4
A wallspin is like a cartwheel on a wall, so apply this general similarity. When near the wall, jump off the ground into the wall. Don't pound the ground with your feet, it will mar your momentum and pop. Plant your left hand (if right-handed) on the wall, about the height of the bottom of you rib cage, and pivot you body around that point. This hand does not move until the movement is complete. Use your other hand to drag you across the wall. Tuck your legs in a little, the small the length the faster it will spin. Move fast, slowing down will result in a fall. You may feel like you are defying gravity, but it still comes into play. The hardest part is getting your head down, and your feet up.

Step 5
When you land, you will need to pop up, like a real gymnast, so you don't jar you legs, feet, or hip. And with the landing, you have just done a wallspin.
