Step 1
Write out a list of books that you need. Use a search engine and type in get cheap textbooks, or get cheap used books. When getting used books make sure it says "like new, or in almost very good condition". Never get a book that just says acceptable on it. Chances are is that it's close to falling apart. Mint condition means the book is almost like brand new.
-
Step 2
After you find a website that has good cheap books, double check online again. Type in that book and put in a lower price. If the book comes up for $5.00 type in $3.00 and the name. You would be really surprised at the things that come up.
-
Step 3
When you're finished researching, save the site to your favorites. Call your local Goodwill, or Salvation army store. See if they have the book at even a cheaper price. Charity places often carry a lot of used textbooks. Ask them what the condition of the book is first. If you are not happy go back to the online store.
-
Step 4
Before checking out online make sure you can trust the store. Places like Ebay, Amazon, or CheapBooks.Com are all very good sites. Review the most recent feedback of the seller before buying the book if it's on ebay or Amazon. Make sure the seller is trustworthy.
-
Step 5
Lastly, when you're almost finished checking out, double check the shipping cost and make sure that the shipping cost is at a good price. Look up how much the weight of the book would be in the mail. If you find the shipping is over, contact the seller and consider buying someplace else.
