"Hi! My name is Victoria Calvin with Splish-n-Splash Mobile Pet Spa in Miami, Florida. Let's talk about natural flea treatments for puppies. Because you have a little dog now you're going to want to get him used to getting treated for fleas on a regular basis. A little training now will go a long way later on. When you place your puppy in a tub make sure that there's something underneath their feet to prevent them from slipping. If your dog slips around in the tub a lot he's more likely to be afraid of getting a shower later on in life. When you're ready to treat your dog for fleas, make sure you keep the shampoo away from their eyes. Stinging eyes is definitely another way to make your dog fear having his face washed and fleas always migrate towards the head so making sure you wash his head thoroughly is very important. Use only natural shampoos that have been rated for puppies as young as eight weeks old such as the natural neem dip and a TropiClean Natural neem shampoo. Neem is the ingredient that you're looking for to help prevent fleas and ticks on your puppy. When you're using this shampoo you're going to wet your dog thoroughly first and apply just a small, tiny amount of shampoo above the spine. You're going to massage this in and spread it down all the way to between their little toes and underneath their paws, another spot where fleas like to hide. After you rinse off all the shampoo very well do not leave any of it remaining, you're going to apply something that will give you longer lasting protection such as the neem dip. This is going to be applied but not rinsed off. Leave this on your puppy's coat. If your puppy also has dry skin or any itchiness, hot oil treatment after the dip will go a long way to provide relief and protection. Always use something that is rated for puppies, that is very important to make sure that you're not using something formulated for dogs."
