"Hi! This is Kevin Battersby at the Toski-Battersby Golf Learning Center in Coconut Creek, Florida, PGA Class A Professional. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to care for your golf clubs. In the advent of the metal woods, the care will allow you and for all of us golfers, no more need to refinish the clubs. In fact I don't owe keep a head cover on my driver which is a metal club. The so with the metal clubs, there is no really nicking in the wood. Before it would get tarnished or worn because of the water but obviously with a steel club and metal club here cannot have that same wear pattern so the care for this is just a towel, wipe it off. What you want to do also is wipe off the previous day's marks of your club so you can see your impact the next day when you're playing but again it's a lot easier to care for the woods now because they aren't they don't tarnish and they don't wore but we do have cover for them still. In terms of the faces, just a simple towel or you see most golf clubs golf players when they're playing just use their foot to clean off the club but obviously when you don't want around, you can take a towel and some water, dump your club in there and clean off any excess dirt or grass ready for your next round. If and by fact if in fact your golf club's pick up any rust, an old trick for golf would be take the golf club over to the sand trap and head a few sand shots. It's no different than sand blasting anything. Head a few sand shots and it'll knock the rest off it or you can just take your foot again in the track and do like this with your foot to get off the rust. In terms of the shafts, the golf bags nowadays have a like a valor or some type of protective coating. Years ago when we have the steel shafts I guess this would be the difference. With the heads we don't have to worry but now with the shafts we do. Most golf club bags will have this valor covering so that when the club is put in the bag and taken out of the bag it doesn't abrade this area here. I remember when golfers first came out and these bags didn't have this feature, your clubs would have a mark here, would wear off as a paint or some part of the shaft, okay? But it is more cosmetic than anything else but nevertheless when you buy a new club you don't want that to happen. This is Kevin Battersby showing you how to care for your golf clubs."
