"Kayak rigging tips. Right here I have a full out, rigged out kayak. This is a touring kayak made for long distance out to the ocean. But a lot of these could be used for recreational kayaking, too. Now in here you always want, when you're rigging out a kayak to have everything fully accessible with what you need. First thing is a first aid kit. I keep this behind the seat. If I need to I can reach back and grab it. Or if I'm paddling with somebody they can reach behind my seat and grab it also. Also in my kayak is a sponge. Sponge to soak up the little amount of annoying water that I can't get out with my bilge pump. I have my bilge pump out in the front. Easy access to grab on. And if I need to, pump the water out. Or if I'm in the water I have quick access to it. These are great for taking the water out but their also great for being used as a squirt gun to squirt your paddling partners. Also in the front I have a deck rigging bag. And right here is where you want to put your quick access. Maybe a water bottle, a map, a lunch in here. Sunscreen, very important. And that's all stored up in the front in this deck rigging bag right here. Now with your kayak you might have bungee straps all around and where you can store a dry bag full of maybe a rain jacket or some other essential gear that you need. Also in the back I do have a tow strap that's attached to the back end so if I need to I can hand this to somebody to help tow me or if I need to tow them. Also you want really quick access to your paddle float. This allows you to help you back into the, into your boat if you're already in the water. And a rescue stirrup to make a step to attach to attach to your paddle and your paddle float to climb back into the boat. Now a very important piece of equipment is your paddle leash. This attaches your paddles and use this as an aid to get back into the boat."
