"Hi! My name is Nancy Hoffmann-Allison. I'm with Allison's Events in Austin, Texas. We're a full service wedding and event coordinating company and we are going to show you today how to decorate outdoor, chairs for your outdoor wedding. My colleague Michelle Bromley is going to demonstrate for us and we're going to start with the front row which are just your basic folding metal chairs, not very pretty, just functional. So, the first thing Michelle wants to do she's going to cover these chairs with a chair cover. Any rental company can provide chair covers in a multitude of colors and styles. You can get chair covers that just cover the very back of the chair, you can get them to cover all the way to the floor, you can also get some really fancy ones that are like little skirts that have been sewn on and all kinds of fabrics and they really will dress up any kind of chair. And these are really good when the kind of chairs that you're forced to use don't match your decor or you just want to add a little elegance to your event and they're very easy to put on, they just slip right on over the chair so it doesn't take any kind of know-how to do this, it's very simple. And as you could see Michelle is being very concerned about covering the legs because that's very important and once you get all your chairs covered then or she's going to come back and show you how to do a few chair ties which is also a very pretty way to decorate for a wedding. This chair tie is a white shear fabric and it's already been tied into a bow and we're going to tie it on and the way it doesn't help, it is an outdoor issue, always battling the wind. Michelle is adding some really pretty flowers to this chair. This is a feature that you might want to include, you might want to do it just on maybe the head table, maybe the chairs at the end of each row, it's it can be an expensive feature for your wedding so you may want to have to make a choice on whether or not you're going to put it on every chair or every other chair or just have it as an accent in various places. Now, this chair we're going to tie with a chair top. These are available at any rental company, they come in all kinds of colors, they come in shear satins, binglins. this is a standard satin that she's tying in the cobalt blue and it's very simple, you just tie the tie into a real pretty bow. Very easy, very simple way to decorate your outdoor chairs. Now, she's going to fluff it up. That adds a splash of color that you might not want to nearly have. These rung chairs we have our chivalry chairs. This came from Marquee Tents and Events and they come in a multitude of different colors. We're going to tie chair ties on these fernwood chivalry chairs. Michelle Bromley is going to demonstrate several different kinds of chair ties using this beautiful blue fabrics. This tie is what we call the weave and we simply tie the fabric and weave it in and out between the back of the chair rungs and once we have it woven in we straighten it out and then once that's straightened out, she'll pull each end of the fabric even in the back of the chair as you can see. He's going to crisscross over the front and it takes a couple of ties to tie this chair ties and you'll get into a rhythm where it goes fast and it's much easier. The first time is always the slowest and the hardest and then you simply tie a bow in the back. Once she's finished tying it then we'll show you the front and the back so you can see how that looks. So, you're not tying the back, you just do a little knot. Okay. Pretty. And as I've said each time you do this you get a little bit faster. Alright and Michelle if you will turn it so they can see the front so you have this beautiful cross over fabric. Adds a splashing color to your wedding decor. Alright, on this chair Michelle is going to demonstrate to you a new tie, we call this the vertical tie. We simply put the fabric over the top of the chair, we push it through the bottom rung and she's going to even this out, pull it back through again. Now, by doing the multiple folds you get a multi-layered effect so that it looks more abundant and gives a little more texture than just drapin' it over the chair and tie it in a bow at the bottom which that is also a way that can be done but this adds I think a little more texture to the decor. She's braiding it at the bottom. Okay. For this chair we're going to tie again just a little bit different . We're going to do what we call a wrap in a bow and Michelle is going to take the chair tie and it's basically a three wraps and a bow secured with a pin. So Michelle, alright. So we take the chair tie and you want it to be even on each side, wrap it around a chair, cross it in front, she's bringing it back around to the back, straightening the fabric as she goes, here we make a little knot and once we have the knot she's going to turn this into a beautiful little bow or little poof. Want a pin? And she's securing it with a florist pin or a corsage pin. They're long enough to make this work. Beautiful! You can make a dozens of other ways to tie chair ties. You can take chair ties and tie them together and have multi-different colors, you can use just one chair tie but it's up to your imagination."
