"Hi my name is Tawana Henderson, owner and coordinator of Dreams Come True. I am here to talk to your about how to tie a bow. Now the supplies you would need when you are tying a bow is going to be ribbon here. You want to use something like the it's just a thin piece of like satin ribbon. And then you can use any type of whether it is a wine ribbon, or a fabric ribbon, or organza you can use just any type of ribbon you'd like. We have our scissors here, now what you are going to do with this ribbon here. You have got about maybe a eight, six to eight inches on here. And this particular type of ribbon is it just tears. But if you are not using, it has a piece of tape on it, cut that little piece off. If you are not using a piece of ribbon that you can just tear it very easily with your hands then all you do is just get your scissors, and just cut like I said about a six to eight inches off a piece of ribbon. And then just cut it in the middle. Now you want to keep these extra strips, because any time you are making ribbons this can come in handy. You can use it. It doesn't matter if it is not the same color, because you will see at the end that we are not going to, you are not going to see the string on there. Now with you ribbon depending on how large you want your bow you can either use your fingers or I'm going to use this book here to demonstrate how you can use a book here. Now what you want to do you want to wrap it around I would say about eight times. So we have one, that's two, and just kind of use your thumbs to kind of help guide it, and to hold it in place really. Three, we're just going to, we will go six times with this. Four, and it depends, it doesn't matter how many times you loop it around. It is really to your preference, and it depends on the size of the bow that you are going to be using, and this is six. Now since we are so close to the end we are just going to leave this little extra, but if it is a whole lot left you can just cut the excess off. You want to just slide it off the book, try to keep it in tact, sit the book right here. You want to get it together here, and then you want to fold it over. Now the side that is closed, I'm sorry right in the middle here you are going to get your scissors, and you are going to cut it, not all the way across, you want to cut it a little less than half way. Now sometimes if you are using ribbon that has wires it is a little bit difficult, but it will still cut through. You want to cut, and then you want to go to the other side, and you make a cut over here. Okay now you want to take one of your strips here, you are going to put them in between the two cuts here, and you are going to tie it real tight. There you go just tie it real tight on there in a knot. And then you are going to open your bow, you are going to take each one of the loops that is on the inside, and just take it and you want to hold it at the base and twist. It doesn't matter where you start with, you can start on the inner or the outer just hold it at the base and twist. Hold it at the base and twist. And then once you have all of them twisted there like I say then you just kind of fluff it out to whatever shape that you would like it to go in. And then you can use these tines on here, and if you want to just maybe wrap it on something. Maybe a stem, a leaf, a flower or something to decorate it like that you can use the things just to tie it on there with. And that is how you make a bow."
