"Hi! My name is Dane Teixeira, the president of the Broward County Darting Association. We're here at Archies West Practice Facility talking about playing darts. In this clip, I'm going to give you some dart playing tips. First of all, holding the dart. A dart is something that is unique to every individual dart player. Some hold it like this, some hold it like this, some hold it like this. It doesn't matter which way you hold it, the most important thing to remember is that there's only ever two fingers that touch the dart when it leaves your hand and this is two. The rest of them are just for your comfort level. Another tip for dart playing is this is your score board, this is your dart board, they are reasonably close in proximity. We're dealing with pointed objects here so what I would suggest for someone as a tip is when keeping score which is what we do quite often, if we stand as close to the wall as we can, any dart that may bounce off of this dart board has much less of a chance of coming to contact with you and therefore just a simple safety tip and not standing away from here because you've putting yourself more in the line of getting injured by a dart projecting off the board. So, that's just another tip for safety. The last upon dart throwing is aiming. Let's pretend you are the bull's eye and that's what I would like to hit. Well, ideally what I would have before I throw that dart is my hand and my eye lined up directly with you and therefore I will throw that dart directly at you as opposed to having your dart somewhere outside of your field of direct vision. Once again this has been Dane, thank you for watching."
