"Hi! My name is Dane Teixeira, the president of the Broward County Darting Association. We're here at Archies West Practice Facility talking about playing darts. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to sharpen darts. Darts are an object of course that are pointed and gets stuck into objects meaning a dart board. We try to keep up our dart sharp all the time. There are many different ways of doing it. One is this mechanism here which is a sharpening stone which is circular in the middle and the dart gets inserted into it and gets turned around like this and therefore sharpens on the outside. There are other items used for sharpening darts. This is just your regular sharpening stone that some people use. No secret here of what this is. It uses to sharpens darts at and then we've got a little bit fancy as technology has got caught up with us and this is an electronic dart sharpening tool where the dart is stuck into it and it does its work automatically. Now, there's many different theories about sharpening darts. Some people believe you should, some people believe you shouldn't. One of the reasons you should is obvious 'cos the dart's sticking into a dart board. One of the reasons you shouldn't as argument has it is that with the round point it tends not to bounce off of the wires on the board because its point is rounded and is therefore just slide off and stick on the board. So, some people believe in sharpening darts and using them that way and other people believe in not doing it so I believe it's up to the individual person to decide whether you want to keep your darts sharpened or not. I just wanted to give you a little bit better insight into this little tool which is the most common one used. It is just a regular sharpening stone but it's indented on the inside here so the dart point is just moved around on the inside here to sharpen the point. Once again this has been Dane, showing you tips on sharpening darts."
