"Hi friends. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and our question today is can you vacuum fleas? Well a lot of people may not know this but vacuuming up fleas and their eggs is probably one of the most efficient ways we have in controlling flea populations inside structures. Remember the vacuum as it is using that brush to work over your carpeted areas is doing two things. You are killing the eggs of fleas that may be in the nap of the carpet and we're also collecting the adult fleas stage that is sucked up by the vacuum of the actual vacuum cleaner. So very, very effective way to go ahead and get rid of fleas is by using that type of product. A regular vacuum cleaner in a home. The one thing you want to remember is after you've vacuumed your home up is to get rid of the vacuum cleaner bag that now has all those flea eggs and live fleas inside it. Get rid of that. Put it inside of another bag, tie it nice and tight and you can put that out in the garbage. Now also inside the home, people also can use a, some sort of a wet mop or something like that on the non-carpeted areas such as tile or maybe you have a regular wood floor. If you use a wet mop over those areas you will vacuum up the flea feces that the larval stage of the flea feeds on to become an adult as well. And that will help you get rid of your fleas inside the home. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day."
