"Hi friends, I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. The question today is, "How do you choose the best flea repellent to keep fleas off of you and your pets?" Well there's a couple of different choices that you have. For the, for on the pet, the only real good flea repellents are some of the, either Frontline or Advantage; either flea collars or flea strips. Some of them are put in, put on the back of the neck of the pet and will actually repel fleas and kill flea eggs on the pet itself. Now that's probably one of the better ways to either go ahead and keep the fleas off the pet, but what about the flea eggs that are inside your house. Well there's no real good repellents inside the house for you to use as a homeowner to actually keep the fleas from coming in because what happens to most of us is your pet brings the live fleas in and now they're already in the house. But once they're in the house, you want to use products containing something like Pre-cor, which I, I have a sample up here. This is an aerosol you can use called Pre-cor 2000 and Pre-cor 200 will now repel the adult fleas but will also kill the eggs that will develop later on into fleas as well. So product like that inside the house and insecticides outside the house will keep any other fleas that maybe be brought in by animals such as possums or raccoons or, or anything that maybe living outside the home. That will kill those outside, but not really repel them from getting away. Remember, once the flea is there, you have to deal with the flea that's inside the house. These are just some ways that you can go ahead and repel the fleas; the best way again, on the pet will keep, keep your pet free and clear of fleas; outside the house insecticide either by pest control company or by finding some products at your local; either do it yourself pest control store or maybe one of the garden center. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest-free day."
