"Hi friends! I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and I've been asked a question today of how fast do fleas multiply? Well, if you this into consideration I think you're going to be pretty much amazed. If you have ten adult fleas and each one of them lays eggs in a thirty day period of time, you can have over a quarter million fleas inside your home and if you've never been in a home that's been infested by a quarter million fleas before you know they could just about suck just about every bit of blood you or your pet has because it's an amazing thing to see and people may think that this is something that you don't see all the time. Well, down here in Florida we see this on a regular basis because fleas do multiply so fast that I people let it get out of hand. I've seen people they've had welts on their legs so thick that they just they can't even live in the house anymore, they actually have to move out of the house. Well, what can you do in a situation like that to protect yourself in something like this happening? Well, number one is making sure that you get a either a good, reputable pest control company to come by or find a good product such as Precor 2000 Plus. Precor 2000 Plus can be applied very easily within a home. It's you just aim it at the floor and you can spry it right over the floor. This will kill not only the adult fleas but it will also kill the eggs that the fleas have left in the floor. Remember, if you don't kill the eggs and only kill the adults, those eggs will hatch out very very quickly and you will have another generation of fleas starting to go ahead and infest not only the home but if you have a pet or maybe you even have a young children, they will start attacking those young children as well. Fleas do not distinguish between children or pets, they can go ahead and attack either one because they have to have that blood meal. That blood meal that they get from either a pet or from yourself is very important to the young. They have to eat to have that blood meal because as they excrete they have a little bit of blood left on their excretion that the young flea larva has to feed on in order to become an adult so that's a very important part of a flea development as actually getting that blood meal. Another way you can really control fleas inside of a home is using a simple vacuum cleaner to vacuum around the floors and the just the motion of the rudders on the vacuum cleaner will kill a lot of the fleas and pick up the adult as well so these are, you know, simple ways that you could help keep this flea population from growing so large in your home. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest-free day."
