"Hi friends, I'm Mark Govan, with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida, and our question today is what will attract fleas? Well, we all know fleas are a major problem in people's homes and of course, on their pets. But mainly, the number one attractant for most fleas is a blood meal. Now, that blood meal can come from either yourself, or one of your pets, or maybe even if you have a rodent or maybe a possum or something else on the outside of the home. All of these factors will help to bring fleas either into your home or into your yard. Once you have a flea problem that's been established inside the house or outside the house getting rid of them; that can be a problem as well. But, by at least eliminating or creating an area where the fleas will be killed if they come into that area may help to keep the fleas out of the your yard or even your house. Now, if you have a nuisance problem outside with maybe possums or raccoons or something, where the fleas are being brought into the yard, by spraying those yards with a product such as Tallstar, or spraying underneath the run areas where maybe the pets, if you have a pet or something, where they're running out in the yard such as your bushes, your flowers, your trees. If you spray that Tallstar in those areas any of these wild invaders that may be coming into your yard and the fleas may be dropping off or dropping their eggs off. If those areas are sprayed then once those fleas or eggs start to hatch they will be killed and that's going to lessen the amount of flea problems that you may end up having in your house. If they're inside your house, well then, that's another problem altogether. You can either spray those areas inside the house, and we'll talk about some flea treatment products that you can use inside the house to keep those down as well. But, by keeping those animals outside your yard, either with some sort of a screening or, you know, some way to, a fencing material to keep them out that'll help keep them from coming inside your home. I'm Mark Govan at the ABC Pest Control, in Largo, FLorida, hoping you have a pest-free day."
