"Hi I'm Kenny Shoulars, house pro at Ten Pin Alley in Wilmington, North Carolina and today we're going to talk about how to compare bowling balls. Years ago it was simple. All the bowling balls were hard black rubber so there was really no comparison. They were all exactly the same. These days bowling balls they come in tons of different kinds of styles and designs and everything and the way you compare them is actually by the price point. The high end bowling balls these run anywhere from $180 to maybe $240 and the thing that drives the price is the sophistication of the cover stock and the core inside the ball. The next case would be the mid range reactive resin ball, not quite as sophisticated but it will still get the job done and often times it may even get the job done even better depending on the lane conditions and this ranges around maybe $120, $130. Then you've got the lower end resin ball. These start around $80 and go up to about $120 again driven by the sophistication of the cover stock and the core inside. We have the plastic balls which are great for beginners and these run around $60, $70 and they're made of, actually I said plastic, they're actually polyester and they're great for beginner bowlers and also make really good spare balls and then if you really want to get fancy you can get a Nascar ball that has got graphic designs on it, you can order them like that or perhaps even your favorite sports team and that's some of the comparisons between different bowling balls."
