"Hi, I'm Kenny Shoulars House Pro at Ten Pin Alley here at Wilmington, North Carolina, and today we're going to talk about bowling ball drilling patterns. There's so many different ways you can drill a bowling ball, and what you've first got to decide, is whether the bowling ball is right for the bowler to begin with, the ball that he selected. Every bowling ball, especially the high end bowling balls have got a core inside and it's multi piece. And the way you drill a bowling ball around that core, determines exactly how the bowling ball's going to roll. And there's several reference points you've got to figure, you've got figure first of all, what the bowler's access point is? And you've got to figure out where the hanger pin is on the bowling ball, and where the CG is, and the Mass Bias point. And once you've got all those, all those points are known then you can lay the bowling ball out to make the bowling ball achieve a desired roll. You can lay it out so the ball will roll early, or you can lay it out so the ball will roll late. Or you can lay it out, so the ball will hook violently at the back end, or so the ball won't hook very much at all at the back end. And all this is determined by how the ball, how the bowler actually rolls the ball, and how the bowling ball is laid out. And that in a nutshell is how you achieve different bowling ball drilling patterns."
