"Hi, this is Carlos Navarro, I'm an artist here in Miami, Florida. In this clip I'm going to show you how to paint oil portraits. First of all, you've got to ground the painting, make sure you've got a color behind. Most of the color that I use is burnt umber and then I've got to create, a painting. How do I do that? Well, I just start drawing, let's see what comes up here. What's going to come up basically is, I've got to create some kind of face, and from this face you're going to have your ears. But one thing that you should know is, that the eyes are always in the middle of the portrait, there always in the middle of the painting. So I've just decided to create the eyes right here, and noses comes down, and you've got eventually what looks like, it's going to be a person. There's a lot of possibilities here, you do your eyes, you've got your nose, which is literally half way between the eyes and the chin, which is right here. I'm going to draw the person's mouth, and then the bottom lip, and literally, there's your, from the bottom of the ear, you've got yourself, your neck, which goes all the way to the top of the ear. Now you can do whatever you want, you can put some longer hair, you can do shorter hair. But in reality, you've got to make sure, if I didn't do this right, it's because, wasn't really measuring, you've got have the eyes be in the middle of the head. Basically, those are the tips for drawing a portrait. This has been Carlos Navarro, thanks for watching."
