"Hi, this is Billy Coulter at Fort Lauderdale Archers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this clip I'm going to show you how to shoot a hunting bow. Remember when shooting a hunting bow, safety is the key factor, so one thing you want to remember is proper stancing technique. The stance I like to use is a slightly open, it gives me good stability, and it actually does help in turn with your holding. Another thing you always want to remember is when pulling back the bow. When you attach a release to the bow, you clip it on as so. One thing you never want to do is pull a bow back with your hand, with your finger in front of the trigger, because if you, if you miss, it's going to go off, the arrow's going to go flying, and it could potentially hurt somebody. So, once you get this done, you knock your arrow on there, lay it on the rest, and what I like to do is I'll hook my release on there, and I'll tuck my hand back in behind the trigger. Once again, I shoot with a slightly open stance, most people are different, depending on what's comfortable to you. OK, from there on what you want to do is you want to hold the bow straight out, and pull right back, right back to the side of your face. My particular anchor point is my first knuckle tucked back in behind my ear, and what I do from there is I rest the tip of my nose on the string. From there, you look through your peep sight, align your sights, and then slowly bring your pointer finger around and make a nice, deep hook on your release. From there, once you get your aiming down, you can release the arrow. You don't want to get in the habit of what we call punching the release, which is one of those, OK. That's a very, very bad habit to pick up, and in turn, it ruins accuracy completely. That could mean, you know, your trophy book to, you know, spending a lot of money on something that you're not going to come home with. So once again, remember safety is key factor when shooting your hunting bow. This is Billy Coulter, and thank you for watching."
