"Hi this is Billy Coulter at Fort Lauderdale Archers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Let's talk about how to choose a bow for hunting. When I'm choosing a bow for my hunting situation I like to look at something that's going to be light in weight but still has plenty of speed. What I have here is the PSE Xforce. It is very light and extremely fast as with most new bows these days. When setting up a bow you don't want to be pulling something that is really too much in a sense because if you're in a tree stand or what not you don't want to struggle. As far as sight configurations and arrow rest, keep it as simple as you can. Most hunters like a multiple pin sight for added yardages and like I said, compact bow designs are perfect for when you're out in the woods stalking prey or even up in tree stands. And once again as in for stalking your prey you really want something that's going to be light because especially here in South Florida it gets really hot in the summertime. You got a lot of clothing on, you don't want to be lugging around an extra 6 pounds and it's just one of those things you want to take into consideration when looking for your next hunting bow. Really good strings will help what make the bow last 2 or 3 seasons, Stone Mountain, Winners Choice are excellent choices, they're reasonable cost, I've been shooting them for years. And you really just want something that's going to fit and be comfortable so you're not out there and you don't have a potential to injure anything. Price ranges on bows they really do vary kind of like buying a car you really get what you pay for. They range from a few hundred dollars to as you see here maybe around 1600 all depending on how into it you really are. Like I said you get what you pay for really in a bow. If you want compact and you want speed you're really going to pay for it but in the long run it pays off tremendously."
