"Hi, this is Billy Coulter, Fort Lauderdale Archers, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this clip we're going to show you how to tune a compound bow. One thing you really want to incorporate when tuning your bow, is to make sure everything is square. Square is key when it comes in forming good shots and accuracy. You want to make sure your string is aligned with your rest and your sight, o.k. Most of your newer bows, especially the new PSEs, they actually come with pre-laser engraved aero markings on the riser. When tuning the bow, you want to make sure that they are leveled and precise on the markings and they are pretty accurate for being factory. As far as the sight, when sighting in, you don't want to be left or right of your target. Your sight will sit if you're right handed archer to a little bit left of the arrow. That's going to be natural because line of sight is not perfectly straight when shooting the bow. Another main key is when your bow is time, as you could see they're are timing marks on this particular bow. You can also see it's not really in time right now, but it's a little complicated procedure to get that going. As long as your bow is in time, it'll shoot lights out, all the time. Typically when tuning a bow, you are going to want to invest in some kind of bow vice. As you see here, one, it makes pretty much holding a bow, hands free, everything will be square from there on. Now like I said before, you want to make sure that the string, the rest and the sight are all square. That can be done, as if you've put an arrow on a string through the rest. And they do have levels that you can put on a string and on the arrow, to make sure everything is aligned right and so on. Now for further tuning of a bow, it is really recommended to consult your local archery Pro shop. As there is a lot more equipment that is needed to properly tune a bow. This is Billy Coulter and thank you for watching."
