"Say if you were selling to an individual I would always go to the department of motor vehicles. They have notary publics present. And that way you'll make sure that all the information is filled in on the correct line. Because once you make a mistake it is a nightmare trying to correct the paperwork. So be sure that all the correct information is filled in on the back of that title. In most situations individuals wont have a clear title and they'll have a pay off involved and what will happen is the lien holder will hold the title until we pay off the loan on the trade in vehicle. And then, I'm going to say probably 3/4ths of our cash customers come in with title in hand ready to do business. And that's always a good sign. If you see the title in that customers shirt pocket you know they're here to do business. In most situations the dealerships will do all the hard work for you. They'll collect the sales taxes and title registration fees at point of sale. And then we'll wait in line. We pay the department of revenue the monies that are due and then with those receipts we'll process the applications for title. No need for you to wait in any long lines. We'll pick up your permanent license plate or mail you your new registration."
