"Well I always tell someone who's trying to sell their car to the dealership to make sure that it's clean. Make sure that it's detailed because that first impression's the most important thing for the used car manager. If it's going to be a car that we'll keep for retail you can actually judge a book by its cover. If that vehicle's good and clean and it's not going to hurt to do a little bit of homework. Go to KBB.com, get an idea of what the trade in value is. And by knowing approximately what your market value is you're not going to be insulted when you're offered a fair value for your vehicle. We don't see as many people selling cars to dealerships as we have in years past. Years past we used to have consignment vehicles where someone would bring the vehicle to you. But because of the litigious nature of the liability involved now a days most individuals either try to sell them themselves and I think the key thing to keep in mind when you're selling it to a dealership, keep in mind they're buying the vehicle to re-sell at a profit. So they're not going to be able to pay you a retail price for that vehicle. But they're going to save you the cost of having to advertise the vehicle, the aggravation of having to negotiate with someone and you're going to have individuals that will want to pay you $50 down $50 a day for 50 years and you don't want to get involved with that. The dealership can write you a check and make it very easy."
